Recipes for Campsite Cooking

When you’re travelling, you don’t tend to have access to the luxuries of a kitchen full of the latest gadgets and appliances. We’re here to tell you that you don’t need all of those things to cook up a delicious snack or meal. Make a quick trip to the nearby supermarket for ingredients, light a fire, break out the Topargee Compact Foldable BBQ Grill Stand and you’re good to go.

We’ve put together a few quick and easy mouth watering recipes for your next outdoor adventure.

Breakfast Sandwich

Starting the day off right is so important when you have a full day of travelling ahead of you. You don’t want anyone developing hanger pains too early in the day. This tasty breakfast sandwich has you covered! You can even use leftover meat from the night before.

Camping Meat Pie

The novelty of this meat pie alone is well worth attempting the recipe. It’s a cross between a conventional pie and a toastie. Don’t forget the tomato sauce!

Grilled Fish Tacos

This crowd pleasing recipe can be adapted to include the catch of the day if you’ve been fishing. There’s nothing quite like fresh fish.

Campfire Potatoes

A cheesy potato snack that all the family will enjoy. You really can’t go wrong with potatoes.

Grilled Chicken Skewers with Veggies

Why does everything taste better on a skewer? Grilled chicken + veggies = a well balanced meal the whole family will enjoy. You will need some skewers and a fridge or cold storage to keep the chicken and veggies in while they marinate.

Campfire Pizza

Just because you’re on the road, doesn’t mean you have to miss out on pizza night! This recipe makes whipping up the perfect pizza simple and easy. If like us, you’re a big fan of cheese, we recommend sprinkling a little extra on top for maximum melty goodness.

Apple & Cinnamon Damper

This sweet twist on the traditional Aussie snack is bound to be a campsite favourite. Who needs to pay a visit to the local bakery when you have apple and cinnamon damper? Wrap it up and take it with you on a hike, fishing trip or scenic drive. Yum!

S’mores

Of course we couldn’t talk about campfire snacks without including this American favourite. Half the fun of this kid-friendly dessert is making it so be sure to get everyone involved! In the USA they make s’mores with graham crackers which are difficult to source in Australia. We recommend substituting them with Arnott’s Milk Arrowroot or McVities Digestives instead. Keep a wet cloth handy for sticky fingers!

Don’t forget, if you’re heading out on the road in an RV or caravan or planning a camping trip, check out the Topargee Compact Foldable BBQ Grill Stand. It’s an essential item for those who love a good outdoor grill.
